AMERICAN STYLE BARBECUE PULLED PORK

The Standard Meat Company has created American style sweet hickory BBQ pulled pork. With our secret recipe using premium ingredients marinated and slow cooked for up to 16 hours. Enjoy delicious American style pulled pork in the comfort of your own home!

AMERICAN PULLED PORK SLIDERS

 Ingredients

1 kg American style sweet hickory BBQ pulled pork
24 slider buns
4 cups cabbage, shredded
1 cup carrots, shredded
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Method

  1. Heat the meat according to the instructions provided. While the meat is cooking, prepare the coleslaw and buns.
  2. Slice the slider buns in half and lightly toast them if desired.
  3. To make the coleslaw, in a large bowl combine the shredded cabbage and carrot. In a separate small bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots and toss until evenly coated. Allow to rest for flavours to combine.
  4. To assemble, place a generous amount of pulled pork (40g) on the
    bottom of each slider bun. Top the pulled pork with a spoonful of coleslaw (20g). Place the top of the bun on the coleslaw to complete the slider.

Chef’s Tip

Garnish sliders with coriander and serve with pickles
on the side for a tangy complimentary crunch.

MICROWAVE

  1. Defrost Pack for 14 hours in the fridge at 1-5°C or microwave.
  2. Open packaging and empty contents into a microwave safe dish.
  3. Cover and microwave on MEDIUM for 3 minutes.
  4. Break apart pork pieces, re-cover and microwave on MEDIUM for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove from microwave and allow to stand for 2 minutes.

MICROWAVE

  1. Defrost package as directed before heating.
  2. Open packaging and empty contents into a microwave safe dish.
  3. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove from microwave and allow to stand for 2 minutes.

STOVE TOP

  1. Defrost package as directed before heating.
  2. Preheat large non-stick pan on medium heat.
  3. Open packaging and empty contents into a pan.
  4. Heat for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from pan and allow to stand for 2 minutes .

OVEN

  1. Defrost package as directed before heating.
  2. Preheat oven to 180° fan forced (200°C conventional)
  3. Open packaging and empty contents onto a lined oven tray.
  4. Heat covered for 10 minutes at 180° fan forced (200°C conventional).
  5. Remove cover and heat for another 5-10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to stand for 5 minutes.
